Bruce Chapman Obituary

Bruce Arthur Chapman, born on March 13, 1939, in Madison, South Dakota, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Baudette, Minnesota, on December 9, 2024. He was 85 years old.

Bruce spent his early years in Madison before his family relocated to Baudette to establish a cattle farm. He attended high school at the Agricultural College in Crookston and later completed a year of college at the University of Minnesota. Following his studies, he returned to Baudette to pursue a career in masonry. As a master bricklayer, Bruce was highly regarded for his skill and craftsmanship.

In his younger years, Bruce enjoyed fishing and hunting, passions that reflected his love for the outdoors. As he grew older, he found joy in gardening, where his green thumb flourished, as well as solving puzzle books and spending time on his lawn mower. Whether working or relaxing outside, Bruce cherished being surrounded by nature.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy (Seydel) Chapman; his brother, Harvey Chapman; his sons, Scott (Diane) Chapman, Bryan Chapman, Mark Chapman, and Wayne (Marcie) Chapman; and his grandchildren: Kaileigh (Aaron) Rybak, Josie Chapman, Kade Chapman, Tanner Chapman, Chase Chapman, Eric Chapman, Jake Chapman, and Natalie Chapman. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Chapman and Lou "Elsie" (Clyborne) Chapman; his sister Dorothy (Eldo) Jackson; sister-in-law Eileen Chapman; and daughter-in-law Kimberly Chapman.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Baudette, Minnesota. Refreshments will be served following the service.
