Brian Clifford Olson

Brian Clifford Olson passed away peacefully on April 17, 2022, at home with his wife and daughters by his side.

Brian was born in Drayton, ND on February 16, 1958 to Clifford and Darleen Olson. He was the second oldest out of five children and grew up in Halma on the family farm until he graduated from Karlstad High School in 1976. He took much pride in breaking the school track record and would remind us of his bragging rights often.

On August 12, 1978, Brian married his high school sweetheart, Doris Arneson, and together they were blessed with two beautiful daughters.

In 1994, he graduated from Northland Community and Technical College with a degree in Airplane Mechanics. Throughout the years Brian enjoyed hauling beets every fall in Drayton, ND for 32 years. He made Warroad his home in 1995, where he would raise his two beautiful daughters and welcomed their sisters into his heart as his own. At this time, he started his career at Seven Clans Casino and retired as Lead Bench Technician in June of 2020.

Brian began a new chapter when he married the love of his life, Lorraine King, on July 28, 2001. With this bond, he welcomed two amazing sons into the family and together would have another son sent to be their guardian angel. Throughout the years he was blessed with 15 grandchildren.

Brian enjoyed fixing anything mechanical, even if it wasn’t broken. His pride and joy was taking his family on road trips with his big green bus. There are many favorite family memories involving his famous signature lasagna!  He took much pride in making it, knowing his grandchildren would be anxiously waiting with smiles.

Brian will be dearly remembered for his kind heart and words of wisdom. He was a man of few words, but words of gold. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply and adored his wife. He would help anyone in need and could fix anything his hands touched. He will be greatly missed by his devoted family and dear friends.

Brian is survived by his wife, Lorraine Olson; mother, Darleen Olson; siblings, Kathy, Janelle, Steven, and Shari; children, Shauna (Blake) Masters, Jamie (Aaron) Olson, Missy (Reed) Olson, Danielle Pribula, Peter (Carlene) King, Alfred (LaBria) Thomas, Allyson (Joseph) Thompson; as well as grandchildren, Alisha, Jillian, Zachary, Keyara, Tristan, Kailee, Kenley, Aaleigha, Avearah, Ellie, Olivia, Amaro, Sophie, Autumn, and Oliver.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Clifford; grandmother, Sarah; uncle, Vernon; uncle, Reynard; and son, Brandon.

A Funeral Service for Brian Olson will take place Friday, April 22, 2022 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad at 2:00pm with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will be held in Ponemah.
