A Memorial Service for Bonita Y. Brazier of Roseau, MN, will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Oiland Lutheran Church in Rural Greenbush, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. There will also be a visitation on Sunday, May 17, 5-7 PM, with a 7 PM Prayer service at Oiland Lutheran Church.
Bonita “Bonnie” Yvonne Brazier, born May 24, 1944, to Victor and Edna (Erickson) Wahl on the family homestead north of Greenbush, Minnesota, grew up in a large family alongside her siblings Delphin, Jeannie, Delaine, Layton, and LaRae. She shared close bonds with her family throughout her life.
Bonnie and family spent time in Syracuse, NY; Manvel, ND; and Thief River Falls, MN before settling in Greenbush, where she raised her five children with Allen Brazier while working various jobs, including serving as Head Cook at the Greenbush School. She is survived by her children Keith, Becky, Bob (Peggy), and Stacy (Traci), along with many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Siblings Delphin Wahl (Samantha), Delaine Shill (Everette), Layton Wahl (Brenda), LaRae Frislie (Franklin).
Later in life, Bonnie moved to Arizona to escape the harsh northern Minnesota winters, where she spent treasured time with family and many friends. Eventually returning to Minnesota, she met James Jorgensen, her partner and best friend of the past five years. Together they enjoyed traveling to Texas and Arizona during the winters, visiting family, making new friends, listening to music, playing cards and games, and sharing laughter wherever they went.
Music was one of Bonnie’s greatest joys, especially when performed by family members Delphin, Layton, LaRae, Nikki Wojchowski, Vickie Wahl, and other talented musicians. Bonnie scared easily, laughed often, and valued family and her Lutheran faith above all else.
After facing multiple health challenges, Bonnie passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, just weeks before her 82nd birthday. She now rests in peace with her son Mark, grandson Randy, sister Jeannie, and parents Victor and Edna in the presence of the Lord.
