Beverly Lindgren Obituary

Beverly Jean Pearson-Lindgren of Roseau, formerly of Salol, passed away June 11, 2020 at the LifeCare Roseau Manor at the age of 91. Beverly was born on October 10, 1928 in Warroad the first child of Carl Edward Pearson and Dorthea Pearson-Fritzinger.

Beverly attended Swift school through the 8th grade and graduated from Warroad High School in 1947. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swift where she was confirmed in 1944. After the church closed its doors in Swift, she attended Zion Free Lutheran Church in Warroad.

Gustav Adolph Lindgren of Salol and Beverly were married on June 24, 1947 at Zion Free Lutheran Church in Warroad. Five children were born to this marriage.

Beverly was an active member of the church including Norland Ladies Aid (well noted for their lutefisk suppers and fish fries), Norland Luther League and she was a Sunday school teacher over the years. After moving to Roseau, she transferred her membership to the Free Lutheran Church - Roseau continuing her service there. She served as a representative to the Home Extension office where she took part in several classes, bringing information back to other club members. She was a member of the Salol Jolly Workers and served as Election Judge for Lake Township from 1972 through 2005. Beverly was a nurse's aid at the Warroad Hospital and Nursing Home. After retirement, she volunteered at the Warroad Clothing Exchange for 13 years until April 2005. Until 2004 when they gave up farming in Salol, she worked side-by-side with her husband in the fields, cared for their animals and raised their children.

When she was not in her sewing room, she could be found gardening, working in the yard, tending to her flowerbeds, cooking, canning or preserving fruits and vegetables. She loved berry picking excursions and the out-of-doors. She loved having "company” and was famous for putting on a spread at a moment's notice. She is fondly remembered for her quilting. In her later years, she volunteered at the Roseau Senior Citizen's Center making countless "feather stitched" quilt blocks resulting in numerous quilts. Her many other interests included scrapbooking, assembling photo albums and memory books, sewing, knitting, crocheting and crafts of all kinds.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Gustav Adolph Lindgren; daughter, Delsie Kaye Lindgren-Thiessen; her parents, Carl and Dorthea Pearson, and brother, Gary.

She is survived by two sons; Richard Dale Lindgren of Glendive, Montana and Jon Scott Lindgren of Thief River Falls, Minnesota and two daughters; Judith Marlene Lindgren Hatcher of Warroad, Minnesota, and Lorie Jean Lindgren-Homme of Salol, Minnesota; sister, Shirley Pearson-Horner of Warroad, Minnesota; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Beverly's family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses, staff and the special volunteers for their kindness and care given during her stay at Lifecare Roseau Manor and to the caregivers at Oak Crest Senior Housing while she was a resident there.
