Beryl passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 93 surrounded by her family in Roosevelt, MN on November 16, 2019.

Beryl was born July 21, 1926 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and grew up around Williams, MN. Beryl attended the school in Williams. She had a passion for music and played the cornet in the high school band. She also played piano, violin, and harmonica. After high school she married her high school sweetheart, James (Job) Bailey, on July 9, 1948, and started a family. The family relocated to California where they lived for 25 years. While in California Beryl volunteered as a rape crisis advocate and also at a school for special needs children. At age 50 Beryl attended De Anza College and received her associate of arts degree. In 1982, Job and Beryl moved back to Minnesota to retire.

Beryl enjoyed walks in nature with her dogs and working in her flower garden. She was an avid reader and storyteller, often reminiscing about years past. The annual Back Home Days in Williams was always a highlight of Beryl’s year.

Beryl was kind and loving, but also stubborn and determined. Her door was always open to troubled souls. All were welcome without judgement. Beryl had her personal beliefs in God and the afterlife. Her beliefs were strong and her own.
