Barbara Louise (Klucas) Hoftiezer, age 80, Baudette, MN, passed away on April 07, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, with her family near. Born in Watertown, South Dakota, Barb attended school in Henry, South Dakota where she graduated on May 25, 1957. Two days later on May 27, 1957, she married Vyron Dennis Hoftiezer at the United Methodist Church, Henry, South Dakota. They immediately packed up and left for California to begin a life in the Navy. As a military wife, she lived in Hawaii, Japan, Texas and many other places around the world, raising her children while her husband served his country. Her primary vocation was housewife and mother, but she also worked as a waitress, grocery clerk and assisted Vyron in running their many businesses. Barbara was always ready and willing to host friends and family. She enjoyed watching and feeding the hummingbirds, keeping track of boats along the river, and following her daily soap operas.
Barbara is survived by Vyron, her husband of almost 63 years; daughter Debra (Jeff) Bahr-Wahpeton, ND; daughter Dian (Michael) Carlos-New Town, ND; Grandchildren: Travis (Nicole) Bahr-Wahpeton, ND; Tanya Church-Bemidji, MN; Daniel (Roxanne) Church-Bemidji, MN; Carmen (Andy) Ziegleman-Wahpeton, ND; Cassie (Eric) Heuer-Moorhead, MN; Jaimie Church-New Town, ND; Ethan (Brittney) Bahr-Kenmare, ND; and 17 great-grandchildren; Sister Sandy Clausen-Solomon, KS; Sister-in-law Linda Klucas-Solomon,KS; Sister-in-Law Kay Klucas-Leonardville, KS; Sister-in-law Jan Hoftiezer-Grandin, Ohio; Sister-in-law Sandy Hoftiezer-Watertown, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cecile and Evelyn Klucas, father-in-law & mother-in-law Herbert and Lucille Hoftiezer; brothers James Klucas, Edward Klucas, Fred Klucas, brother-in-laws Virgil Hoftiezer, Veryl Hoftiezer and son Douglas J Hoftiezer.
Due to the corona virus situation affecting our country, Barbara’s celebration of life service and interment will be scheduled at a later date.
