Arlene Erbele Obituary

Arlene Ellen Erbele, age 88, passed away peacefully December 4, 2021 at LifeCare Roseau Manor. The manor had been her home for nearly nine years. She was born on August 15, 1933 in Scobey, MT to Arthur and Edna (Church) Erickson. She was the firstborn of six children. She had rheumatic fever as a young teenager which caused her to miss two years of high school. She made up one year by correspondence. She graduated from Scobey High School in 1952. While living in Scobey, she had been employed at the Ford Garage and Citizens State Bank as a bookkeeper.

On June 11, 1961 she married Eldor Erbele in Scobey. They lived in Billings, MT for nearly 40 years and had two children, Jeff and Lisa. Over those years they attended Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard and had many dear friends. Arlene continued working as a bookkeeper until she retired. In 1999, she and Eldor moved to Grand Forks, ND to be closer to their grandchildren. They attended the Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed the many friends they made through Bible Study. Their faith was very important to them. They moved into the Good Samaritan Assisted Living in East Grand Forks, MN for some time. Together, they moved into LifeCare Roseau Manor on January 21, 2013. Eldor passed away March 5, 2013.

Family camping trips and summer vacations created so many treasured memories. Arlene and Eldor were always thrilled when their son-in-law, Dan, made business trips to Billings and brought their grandchildren. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her family were very special to her.

Arlene is survived by her son Jeff (Patrick Brown) of Atlanta, GA; daughter Lisa (Dan) Desrosier of Roseau; grandchildren Sara (Justin) Howell of Badger; Joel (Molly ) Desrosier of Roseau; Janelle (Ramsey) Leonard of Minot, ND; great-grandchildren Briggs Jenson, Easton Howell, Mallory Leonard; brother Art Erickson of Scobey, MT; sister Edna Mae Erickson of Bismark, ND; sister Clara (John) Griffin of Everett, WA; brother Mark (Doanie) Erickson of Scobey, MT; and many nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldor; brother Julian Erickson; and brother-in-law Morris Erickson.
