A memorial service for Anthony Armand (Tony) Rothenberger will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 2:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service at Helgeson Funeral Home.
Tony passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, after 4 1/2 years of valiantly battling cancer. He was 56 years old.
Tony was born on December 27, 1968, to Robert (Larry) and Debra Jo (Dahl) Rothenberger in Forest Lake, MN. As a child, he lived in several places before the family permanently settled on Lake Nichols at Canyon MN. He attended school in Hermantown and graduated from Cotton High School.
Tony started working in the family furniture stores when he was still in high school. As a young man he was put in the role of store manager in several of their stores-Eveleth, Superior, Cloquet, and Virginia. He was an amazing salesman and successfully managed the various stores. After the stores closed due to family retirement, Tony moved to Warroad and worked for Marvin Windows in various jobs. He continued to work until cancer took its toll and he was unable to continue.
Tony was young at heart, and he was a thrill seeker; he loved riding his Harley fast and listening to loud music. But, he also enjoyed the serene life of living near water and listening to lake sounds and fishing. Tony was kind hearted and reached out to people in need, always willing to help, in any way that he could, those who may be struggling. He was also an avid sports fan and was always involved in “March Madness” during basketball season and was very loyal to the Minnesota Vikings during football season.
Tony is survived by a very special person in his life, Heidi Dahl; and his daughters, Cheryl (Joe) Longrie, Jade Rothenberger, and Kirsten Rothenberger; brother, Scott Rothenberger. He will be remembered by his three daughters, who each hold different reflections of their father and the love, laughter, and lessons he left in their hearts.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amelia, Anya, and Oliver, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents: Larry and Debra Rothenberger, Uncles: Lynn Rothenberger and Greg Dahl, cousin: Cody Rothenberger, grandparents: Harry and Gudrun Dahl, Armand and Bobby Dybedahl.
A video of the memorial service will be available on the Helgeson website after the service.
