Alan "Digger" Craig Summitt, 75, of Warroad, Minnesota, formerly of Bancroft, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, in Warroad.
Alan was born on January 3, 1950, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to James and Madeline (Thomas) Summitt. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during his military service.
Alan dedicated over 25 years of his career to Marvin Windows, where he was a valued employee until his retirement in 2023. Known for his warm personality and love of good company, Alan cherished his time spent enjoying happy hour with “The Boys”.
Alan is survived by his children: daughter Ingrid Summitt (Andrew Fairbanks); son Clayton Summitt (Lotus Lofgren); daughter Carrie Summitt; brothers Tom (Anne) Summitt, and Roger (Joni)Summitt. He was a beloved grandfather to Adrian Johnson, Riley Sparks, Kaley Sparks, and Emma Fairbanks.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Madeline Summitt; his grandson Hunter Fairbanks; and his former wife Margot Summitt.
Alan will be remembered for his service to his country, his dedication to his work, and most importantly, his love for his family and friends. His legacy of friendship and fellowship will be cherished by all who knew him.
Alan will be laid to rest August 15th, 2025 at the VA cemetery in Little falls MN at 3 pm.
