A celebration of life will be held at Warroad RiverPlace on Thursday, May 21, 2026. 4pm-6pm visiting and appetizers. Ceremony at 6pm.
Alan Bruce Johnston of Warroad, Minnesota, joined his beloved wife in heaven on May 13, 2026. Alan was a man of many talents that spanned the decades, including completing his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and his many adventures in commercial fishing, logging, septic system design, serving as a county commissioner, firefighting with the DNR, and tending the aids to navigation as a civilian employee of the Coast Guard. He loved the outdoors, especially being on the water or in the forest. He loved his family and his pets, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife and life partner of 58 years, Nadene. He is survived by children Derrik, Stacy (Mike), DeWayne (Jacey); grandchildren Dante, Luka, Chris (Ilse), Allison, Matt; great grandchildren Madison, Jackson, and Hudson; siblings Arthur and Arlene; and many dear relatives.
Alan’s kind heart and genuine nature will be deeply missed.
