Virginia R. Geringer

A Gathering of Friends and Family Service for Virginia Geringer of Salol, MN will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.  A visitation will be one hour prior at Helgeson's with interment at Spruce Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Virginia Ruby LaMae Grafstrom Geringer passed away peacefully on October 7, 2019. She was at home surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born in Roseau, MN on February 13, 1943 to Erick and Mary (Sonsteng) Grafstrom. She graduated from Roseau High School. Virginia married Robert Geringer on May 4, 1963 in Council Bluffs, IA. They had five children – Robbie, Randy, Rachel, Rebecca and Rodney.

Virginia was a dedicated employee of Polaris Industries for 42 years. She received yearly achievements for being a loyal and faithful employee. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Salol and enjoyed quilting, traveling, reading, bird watching and tending to her flowers. One of Virginia's favorite traditions was hosting tea parties with family and friends. She and Bob enjoyed taking their grandkids on yearly vacations to multiple destinations all over the U.S.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Erick and Mary Grafstrom; infant son, Rodney Geringer; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Lucille Geringer; step mother-in-law, Lea Geringer; brother, Lester Grafstrom; brother-in-law, Clinton Michal.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Robbie (Theresa), Randy (Tanya), Rachel (Gregg) Welin, Rebecca (Cory) Lundgren; grandchildren, Michael Geringer, Ashantae (Michael) Powell, Shantel (Jorge) Geringer González, Sharaya Geringer, Isaac Geringer, Sarah Sather, Stephanie (Waylon) Krumvieda, Shannon (Nathan) Hayes, Josee Lundgren, Cooper Lundgren, Tucker Lundgren; great grandchildren, Callie Sather, Nora Sather, Sophie Krumvieda , Sawyer Krumvieda, Grace Powell, Lennon Powell, Isabella González Geringer; siblings Myron (Char) Grafstrom, Dayton (Mary) Grafstrom, Sam (Lola) Grafstrom, Genevieve Michal; sister-in-law Verna Grafstrom, brother and sister-in-law Felix and Jan Turcotte; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
