Timothy Luverne Kofstad passed away on November 3, 2019, at the age of 59. He passed away peacefully with his wife Janell by his side at the LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, MN.

Tim was born on September 3, 1960 at the Budd Hospital in Roseau, MN. He grew up with two brothers and graduated from Roseau High School in 1979. Right after high school Tim joined his parents in the family business, Kofstad Signs. Tim married Janell Beito on June 1, 1985. Together they raised 3 children: Jordan, Sarah Jessi, and Joshua. In 1990, Tim and his wife, Janell, bought into USA Realty, and started their successful career in the real estate business.

Tim enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout his life. Right after high school, he, his brother Robbie, and his friends were in the band, Freedom. In the 80’s and 90’s Tim and his family enjoyed spending their free time up at the Northwest Angle, where Tim and Janell built a cabin on Flag Island. Tim also enjoyed playing in the local softball league with his dad, Donnie, on the Kofstad Signs Team. Tim’s life-long hobbies always centered around his family and friends. Tim enjoyed white-tail deer hunting, playing in a paintball league, camping with his family, watching his sons in their motocross races, playing and watching hockey, and anything to do with supporting his kids. Although, Tim’s favorite pastime was always listening and sharing his favorite music with his loved ones.

Above all, Tim loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He devoted most of his life to serving the Lord’s people throughout a number of ministries. Tim grew up in the Roseau Evangelical Covenant Church where he taught Sunday School for many years, he served on the church Leadership Council, as well as the Bluewater Bible Camp Board. Tim also was involved in an outreach ministry at the local jail.

Tim will be forever remembered as a kind and compassionate man of God. His patience was one of his biggest attributes, and he was always a champion of loving people above himself.

Tim is survived by his wife, Janell Kofstad, son Jordan (Breanna) Kofstad, daughter Sarah Jessi (Zach) Johnson, son Joshua Kofstad, Mother Elna Kofstad, Father Donald Kofstad, grandchildren Benjamin Kofstad, Alison Beeghly-Linert, Charlie Kofstad, and Siblings Robert (Shelly) Kofstad, Scott (Kelly) Kofstad, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
