Dear family of Rev. Rodney,

One of our officers stumbled upon the obituary for Rodney and we were stunned to learn of his death. Rodney had been a member of Romanian Genealogy Society (RGS) for several years and we were working on a story to be printed in our upcoming newsletter about his Romanian ancestry. He met with Jean, another member and whose ancestor was also from Valcani, to scan his historic photos at one of the Romanian festivals in St. Paul a few years ago. We exchanged a few text messages about genealogy just a few days before he died. We had no idea he had passed.

Garnet and family, we are so very sorry for your loss. Please know that we are thinking of you and wish you peace and comfort.

It is with sadness that I am writing this condolence. I graduated with Rodney from North St. Paul High in 1969. Although, with a class of 635, I did not know him that much then, I have become to know him more from our friendship on Facebook and getting together with friends in Hastings. Then I met Garnet, who is such a lovely woman.

Rodney's friendship will be missed and from his faith, I know where he is now. What a gentle, loving, and spiritual man he was. He went through some ups and downs these past couple years with his health, but I was so shocked to hear of his hospitalization and then his passing.

My prayers are with Rodney and his lovely family. Take care Garnet!!!!

Christian sympathies to you, Garnet, and your children. We were saddened to hear of Rod's death--especially because he had seemed to be improving when we spoke last Wednesday. Rod was a faithful Christian, committed pastor and loving husband and father. God be with you all in these days of remembering and giving thanks for his life and witness. A card from the synod staff is also on its way. Peace to you, in Christ, Bishop Larry

Dear Garnet and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Rod's death. A good life, too short lived. Although I didn't know Rod well, I often thought of him because he followed me at Messiah in Roseau. I remember him just as this picture looks, with that big smile. I send you my deepest condolences and pray that "all will be well." Pr. Melody
