Robert John Sirovatka

A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert John Sirovatka of rural Baudette, MN will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baudette.  A visitation will be one hour prior at the church.  

Robert John Sirovatka passed away September 11, 2019 at the LakeWood Health Center in Baudette, MN at the age of 83.

Robert was born on October 22, 1935 in Knox, Indiana to Charles and Anna Sirovatka.  He graduated from Argo High School and was known throughout the area for his baseball skills.  After a shoulder injury on his pitching arm ended his career, Robert joined the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge.  He and Janet (Votava) were married in 1964.  Robert worked for the Marbelette Floor Company in Chicago, IL as a floor specialist until his retirement at the age of 62; and was a member of the Cement Contractors Union.  He and Janet moved to Alexandria, MN for a short time, then finally to Baudette, MN in 2006 where he followed his passion for fishing.

Robert loved to spend time on the water, especially Lake of the Woods.  In addition to fishing, he enjoyed watching baseball and football on TV, and spending time outdoors to be close to nature.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Sirovatka of Baudette and a sister, Charlann Sirovatka.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Marie, Charles Jr., and Marcella.
