Richard J. Kuklok

A Funeral Service for Richard J. Kuklok of Warroad, MN will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in ROSEAU, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in WARROAD, MN. Interment will be held at Norland Cemetery in Salol, MN.

Richard passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the age of 74.

Richard James Kuklok was born in Fargo, ND, on August 2, 1945 to Martin and Martha (Fiebiger) Kuklok. The family lived in Moorhead, MN until Richard was six. They moved to Cooperstown, ND, where he grew up and attended school. After high school Richard moved to Fargo, ND and started working at a gas station as a mechanic.

While living in Fargo, Richard met his future wife, Mavis. They were married in Cooperstown on August 28, 1971 and lived there for 13 years. They had two children, Brenda and Brian. He worked at Melroe Manufacturing and Wil-Rich Manufacturing and farmed for a short time before moving to Warroad, MN.  After that they moved to Warroad, MN in 1984 he worked for Marvin Windows for 23 years until his retirement.

Richard enjoyed watching sports – he was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. Every morning and afternoon before his daily drive, he would stop at Holiday for coffee. He would also stop frequently at Lake Country Chevrolet to visit. He also enjoyed 4 wheeler rides, working on his tractors, and taking care of his two pets.  But most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Richard is survived by his wife, Mavis; children Brenda (Kirk) Jensen of Badger, MN and Brian Kuklok of Salol, MN; grandchildren Andrew and Devin Jensen; siblings Margaret (Lyndon) Anderson, Mary Howes, Marvin (Debbie) Kuklok, Kathy Ballou, Mike Kuklok, Becky Grandalen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Mike Howes and father and mother in-law.
