A Funeral Service for Ole Kompelien of Roseau, MN will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Moe Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Moe-Rose Cemetery in Roseau, MN.
Ole Kompelien passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the age of 89.
Ole Kompelien was born on June 29, 1929 in Pinecreek, MN to Syvert and Gina (Boroos) Kompelien. He attended school in Pinecreek through the 8th grade.
In December, 1952 Ole enlisted in the US Army. He served his country until December, 1954. Ole held several jobs during his lifetime; including construction, working in the woods, and at Marvin Windows.
He and Helen Amundson were united in marriage in January, 1955. They had two children, Dennis and Diane. Ole enjoyed woodworking, listening to music, and listening to Roseau Rams sports. He loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities. Ole didn’t miss a day of the Roseau County Fair, where he would sit by the mini stage and listen to the many musicians perform.
Ole is survived by his wife, Helen; children Dennis (Vonnie) Komplien of Roseau and Diane (Gary) Tweten of Wannaska, MN; grandchildren Derek, Dustin, Deidre, Devon, Ashley; eight great-grandchildren; sister Cora. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Gilmore, Albert, Helmer, Jackie, Melvin, Kenneth, Raymond, Mildred, Olga, and an infant brother.
