MaryLynn Olson

A Memorial Service for MaryLynn Olson of Roseau, MN will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 2:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 5-7PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN and also one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at a later date.

MaryLynn passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the age of 67.

MaryLynn Olson was born November 9, 1950, at the Westbrook, MN hospital to Olav and Grace (Lee) Hedman. She was baptized and confirmed at the Old Westbrook Lutheran Church. MaryLynn graduated from Storden High School in 1968 and attended the Red Carpet Beauty School in Minneapolis.

On June 30, 1973, MaryLynn was united in marriage to Richard Olson at Old Westbrook Church. This marriage was blessed with two children, Nathan and Andrew. MaryLynn enjoyed being a fulltime mother until the boys entered grade school. She worked for ODC in Roseau and then the State of Minnesota Vocational Rehabilitation Division from which she retired in January 2016.

MaryLynn enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and family and was also an avid gardener. She especially loved growing flowers.

MaryLynn passed away on June 6, 2018, at the Roseau Manor after putting up a valiant battle against cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of Roseau; sons, Nathan (Jody Bednarczyk) of Jordan, MT and Andrew (Sapphira May) of Westby, MT; grandchildren, Logan (Kim) of Missoula, MT and Aleksander of Westby, MT. She is also survived by sisters, Diane (Marv) of Tomo, WI and Pat of the Twin Cities; brothers Steve of the Twin Cities and Wally (Colleen) of Storden, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Blessed be her memory.
