Marilyn E. Sunsten

Funeral Services for Marilyn E. Sunsten of Frisco, TX formerly of Roseau, MN will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Concordia Lutheran Church in (Ross) rural Roseau, MN.  Visitation will be on Friday May 31st from 5-7 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.  Interment will be at the Concordia Cemetery.

Marilyn Esther Sunsten was born on April 1, 1944, in Roseau, MN to Emil and Mary (Vatnsdal) Lee.  She was the third oldest of seven children.  Marilyn married Gary Sunsten in 1964. They had two sons, Craig and Jason. Marilyn was a cosmetologist for several years during the 60’s and 70’s. She also had a craft shop for several years in the 80’s.

Marilyn always wanted to live in Texas. She and her husband Gary moved there in 1993. She spent 26 years there and loved it! In her home in Frisco, she designed a beautiful outdoor room and patio and she loved spending time there. Marilyn loved going on cruises and spending time with friends and family. She and Gary got together often with friends and met every month with a group for birthday dinners.

Marilyn passed away on May 16, 2019, at the William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital in Dallas, TX at the age of 75.  She is survived by her husband, Gary Sunsten of Frisco, TX; sons, Craig of Maple Grove, MN and Jason (Jeanine) of St. Michael, MN; grandchildren, Brody and Claire; and siblings, Orin (Carolyn) Lee, JoAnn (Verland) Orvis, Emmett Lee, Donald Lee, Linda (John) Gullickson and Brenda (Mark) Knochenmus.  She was preceded by her parents, Emil and Mary.
