Marian M. Witt

A Funeral Service for Marian Mae Witt of Baudette, MN will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00PM at Border Evangelical Free Church in Baudette, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Clementson Cemetery, in Baudette, MN. 

Marian passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the age of 90. 

Marian Mae Witt was born March 13, 1928 to Norman and Marie (Hottmann) Hosterman in Tolstoy, SD. She was the second of four kids. She moved with her family to farm southeast of Clementson, MN on December 16, 1937. She would later graduate from Baudette High School in 1947.

On November 14, 1950 Marian married August Witt at her parents’ house. They have two children, Gary Lee who was born September 8, 1951 and Ramona Faith, born April 14, 1955. Marian loved gardening, writing letters, visiting, and talking on the phone. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, August; her parents and her sister, Ethel Kopkie.

She is survived by her children, Gary Lee (Cindy) Witt of Alaska , Ramona (Dan) Zimney of Baudette, MN; grandchildren, G.L. (Rachel) Witt of Alaska, Nicole (Jim) Marsh of Alaska, Derek (Tessa) Zimney of Roseau, MN, Allan (Lanie) Zimney of Ogilvie, MN; great-grandchildren, Grace, Ava, Hadley, Noah, Zander, August, Kenadi; siblings, Gerald Hosterman of Arizona, Norma (Oscar) Maus of Baudette,MN.
