A Funeral Service for LeRoy A. Roseen of Roseau, MN will be held on Friday, January, 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM at First United Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN with a prayer service at 7:00PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Malung Cemetery at a later date.
LeRoy passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the age of 81.
LeRoy Arden Roseen was born on September 10, 1937 to Albin and Mabel (Magnuson) Roseen in Roseau, MN. He grew up in Malung and attended Roseau High School graduating in 1955. After high school LeRoy worked various jobs. LeRoy was a dependable, hardworking man with a strong work ethic. He worked for Helgeson Funeral Homes for 11 years, and was employed for several years by Northrup King Seed Company, and later worked for Norfarm Seed Company before retiring in 1999. LeRoy was awarded Premier Seedsman of the Year in 1997. Although he was employed fulltime, he also farmed for many years . As busy as he was, his family was priority, and he made sure that he spent many special times with them. LeRoy was a faithful member of the First United Lutheran Church in Roseau.
LeRoy married Barbara Larson on April 18, 1959. Together they enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at their cabin at Buffalo Point. He was especially grateful for their three children and their families and did not want to miss any family gatherings. During his illness he would often express his appreciation to just be at home, and would say what a blessing it is to have such a wonderful family and so many friends. LeRoy was a humble man, kind and gentle with a quiet strength, and was dearly loved by his family and his many friends.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Floyd; sister, Doris Norquist; and several in-laws.
LeRoy is survived by the love of his life, Barb; children, Dan (Nancy) Roseen of Kent, WA, Lynn (Lee) Miller of Roseau, MN, Melissa MacLeod of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Kayla (Jared) Dion, Kalicia (Issiah) Hruby, Karlie Miller, Brandon MacLeod, Brooke MacLeod, David Roseen, DeAnne Roseen, Michael Roseen; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ellie, Levi, Trenton; siblings, Deloris (Glenn) Schmock, Mertrice Cole, Kermit Roseen (Judy Nelson), Wayne (Joanne) Roseen, LuAnn (Randy) Holwell.
