Kenneth J. Bowden

A Graveside Service for Kenneth J. Bowden of Baudette, MN will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2 PM at Elm Park Cemetery in Baudette, MN. Military Honors provided by the Baudette Veteran Ceremonial Squad. Ken passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN at the age of 63.

Kenneth James Bowden was born on December 14, 1953 in Piqua, Ohio to James and Mary (Mullin) Bowden. Ken attended school in Troy, Ohio and graduated in 1972. He went on to attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio before joining the United States Marine Corps in 1978. Ken spent 12 years in the Marine Corps as a staff sergeant working in aviation as an Electronic Technician. After his time in the Marines he worked for Spectrum Electronics in Beaufort, SC from 1991-1993, from 1993-1995 at Honey Creek Package in Conyers, GA and then Solvay Pharmaceutical in Baudette, MN.  He began working at Marvin Windows and Doors in Warroad, MN in 2005. Outside of work Ken enjoyed being outdoors, reading and watching movies; he was very inelegant and had a love for History. He had a soft spot for his pets and animals in general. Ken loved his family and truly cherished every moment with them.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pokcha Lee Bowden; parents; brother–in-law, Edward F. Sampson.

Ken is survived by his siblings, Karen Bowden-Sampson, Melanie Jill (Robert) Gubbels; nephews, James Sampson, Joseph (Amy) Gubbels, Jonathan (Jami) Gubbels; nieces, Elizabeth Shows, Jessica (Nick) Tornese; 3 great nephews; 5 great nieces and numerous other family.
