Memorial services for Justin Van Norman of Roseau, MN, and formerly of California, will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Private interment will be held at a later date in California.
Justin Roy Van Norman, 41 years, gained his wings on the evening of July 10, 2019. He was preceded in death by Popz Rocky and our two sons, Maverick and Goliath. Justin was a family man who left behind his four children; Omar Rivera, Leigha Van Norman, Tabious Van Norman, and Libbie Van Norman; also his best friend and wife for over ten years, Carolyn Marie Grissom Van Norman, along with his Godchildren, nieces, nephews, sister Christal Nelson Halloway; brothers, Kevin Grissom and Eric Grissom, plus so many more; parents Mary Wallace, Steven Grissom, and Patrick Iverson; aunt Francine Van Norman.
Justin grew up in California. He lived in Modesto, CA, where he graduated from Thomas Downey High School. He met the love of his life in 2006, became a father and a husband and a part of another family. He would say “Don’t cry for me. Smile because you knew me” and YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!!
We moved to Roseau, MN in 2016 after traveling the USA. He became part of the Polaris family where he worked as a machine handler and forklift driver for years. There he met amazing friends and some became family. He loved to chill, listen to music, fish, hunt, and to spend as much time as possible with his kids and pets. He would tell anyone who listened about his life’s experiences and was a good friend.
RHINO is rocking it in heaven and watching over us all now. So go cast a pole in his honor, rescue a shelter pet, and remember he loved all of us! Duda is fishing in the sky now…
