James Raymond Vistad, age 61, died on December 23, 2019 at his home in High Ridge, MO due to heart complications which he struggled with for a number of years.
He was born June 7, 1958 in El Paso, TX, the son of Raymond and JoAnn Vistad. He grew up and attended school in Roseau, MN, graduating in 1976. He was employed at Marvin Windows during high school summer breaks and later as a full-time employee. He moved to Bend, OR in 1980 and resided there until 2017. While in Oregon, he was employed at Posi Windows for several years and then returned to school to focus on developing his culinary skills which was one of his greatest passions. He put his culinary skills to good use at the Coyote Restaurant, where he was employed for a number of years. He also cooked at Bronco Billy’s and Fan Tails. He very much enjoyed spending time with his co-workers and built great relationships. In 2017, he moved High Ridge, MO.
Jimmie enjoyed spending time outdoors flying drones and catching fish in streams. He also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking up the latest catch and sharing meals with his family and friends. He could also be found sporting vibrant Hawaiian shirts, which showed part of his artistic passion. He was always interested in the visual and music arts. He especially enjoyed painting and playing a tune on the keyboard.
Jimmie is survived by his parents, Ray and JoAnn Vistad of Roseau; siblings Sherry (David) Kiesow of Oregon, Jan (Tracey) Vistad of Roseau; and Susanne (Patrick) Stein of Roseau; nieces and nephews Aleck (Lisa) Stein, Jesse Stein, Rikki Stein and Lindsey Vistad; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
