Harriet J. Naslund

Funeral services for Harriet Naslund of Salol, MN will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Helgeson's; with interment at Falun Cemetery.

Harriet Josephine Naslund of Salol, MN passed away on August 7, 2017 at the LifeCare Roseau Manor at the age of 89.

Harriet was born on October 2, 1927 in Falun Township of Roseau County, MN to Alfreda (Eklund) and Doffen Dahl.  She grew up on the family farm in Falun and attended school in Falun and Roseau.  She and Melvin Naslund were married on September 28, 1946.  They lived in the state of Oregon for a short time, before moving back to Salol, MN to farm.  In addition to her helping on the farm, Harriet worked as a cook at the Roseau Hospital for over 25 years.

Harriet enjoyed, along with her sisters, picking blueberries and making pies to sell at the Roseau County Fair. She also loved traveling to Florida for many winters.  In her youth, she enjoyed getting dressed up and going to local dances.  Blessed be her memory.

She is survived by her sons, Calvin (Elaine) Naslund of Salol and Miles (Joan) Naslund of Salol; grandchildren, Sheldon (Natalie), Shon (Melissa), Shane, (Rebecca), Kristen (Sean), and Angie (Neil); step gradchildren, Terri Snyder, Chris Mellstrom; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Aaron, Elyse, Adelynn, Layton, Warren, Luke, Katrina, Taylor and Brooke.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin in 2003 and siblings, Edith, Evelyn, Myrtle, Agnes, Clara, Hilda, Albin, Harry, Russell, Frichoff, Marvin, Dennis and Nels.
