A Funeral Service for Harold H. Klamar of Gatzke, MN will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Landstad Cemetery in Gatzke, MN.
Harold passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the age of 86.
Harold Herman Klamar was born on August 6, 1933 to Arthur and Alma (Lippold) Klamar in Gatzke, MN. He grew up and attended school in Gatzke, after graduating Harold began working on the farm with his father and three brothers. He joined the United States Army and served form 1956 -1958. While home on furlough he married Doris Fugere on December 27th 1956 in Thief River Falls, MN. After his time in the Army the couple settled in Gatzke where Harold continued to farm with his family.
Harold was very handy when it came to fixing anything around the farm. He was a very skilled welder and also loved woodworking. Harold received his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying recreationally with his brothers. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved his time hunting and fishing. Harold was a member of the Senior Citizens of Grygla and Gatzke and enjoyed playing Rook. Most of all Harold loved and enjoyed time spent with his family. Harold was also a member of the Middle River American Legion and the Disabled Military Veterans in Roseau, MN.
Harold is preceded in death by his son, Kirk; parents, Arthur and Alma (Lippold) Klamar; brothers, Roland and Paul; sister, Margaret Kaml; sister-in-law, Laura.
His is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Doris; children, Darwin Klamar, Inez (Greg) Settelmeyer, Sanford (Colleen) Klamar, Valerie (Corey) Chandler; grandchildren, Amber (Chuck) Knetter, Heather (Drew) Monson, Gus Settelmeyer, Alex Settelmeyer, Rachel (Steve) Lindstrom, Ryan Klamar, Ben (Theresa) Mosbeck, Jessica (Matt) Kroll; great-grandchildren, Brynn Monson, Lauran Lindstrom, Michael Lindstrom, Charleigh Knetter, Pyper Knetter, Grayson Mosbeck, Ady Lindquist, Owen Kroll.
