Gladie B. Markstrom

Funeral services for Gladys B. Markstrom of Roseau, MN will be held 11 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN.  A visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home; with interment at the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Gladys “Gladie” Markstrom was born in Reine Township of Roseau County on March 28, 1927 to Einar and Alice (Weaver) Simonson. Gladie married Levoy “Kian” Markstrom on July 2 1945;

they had one son, Brian.  Gladie lived in Roseau her entire life and loved the town and residents. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say.

She is survived by her son, Brian (Vicki) and granddaughter Katie of Rosemount, MN; brother Marvin Simonson of Roseau, MN; sisters Audrey Baumgartner of Minneapolis, MN and Hazel Wolfe of Stillwater, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kian; and brother Orvin. Gladie was loved by all who knew her and will be missed greatly.
