A Memorial Service for Donna (Hammer) Kloosterboer of Ft. Wayne, IN and formerly of Badger, MN will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Opdahl Cemetery in Badger at a later date.
Donna Lee Kloosterboer passed away suddenly at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 64. Donna was born to Glen and Florence Hammer on May 24, 1955 at the Roseau Hospital. Donna was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Badger, MN. As a young girl, she attended Badger school and graduated in 1973 from Badger High School. Donna attended Anoka Junior College and later transferred to Moorhead State College where she graduated with a degree in business and finance. Donna’s first job was with Wisconsin State savings and loan as an examiner. There, she met James Kloosterboer and were married and made their home in Milwaukee, WI. While there, she became an avid Green Bay Packer fan and a Milwaukee Brewer fan. Donna moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she met Jack Mayes, and were together for 15 years until her death. Donna liked to fish, ride in the Ranger, and her cats.
Donna is survived by her mother, Florence Hammer of Badger, MN; siblings, Rodney (Julie) of Albuquerque, NM, Patty Hammer of Badger, MN and Gary (Nancy) of Badger, MN; uncle, Marvin Ness; her special friend, Jack and his son, Mike; and her cat, Sylvia. She is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Hammer; grandparents, Clarence and Caroline Hammer, and Alfred and Esther Ness; and uncles and aunts.
