Donna Anderson

Funeral services for Donna Anderson of Badger, MN will be held on Sunday, January 28th at 2 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.  Visitation will be one hour prior.  Interment will be at a later date at Norland Cemetery.

Donna Mae Anderson passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 24, 2018 at the LifeCare Medical Center at the age of 83.

Donna was born on December 22, 1934 in Roseau, MN to A. Gunnar Welin and Blenda (Hattling).

She graduated from Roseau High School in 1952.  She worked for Honeywell in Minneapolis, MN, then moved back to Roseau and worked at the Budd Hospital.  She moved again to Minneapolis and worked as a transcriber in underwriting for Prudential Insurance Company.  She married Oren Anderson on December 1, 1954.  She followed Oren’s service in the US Marines to North Carolina.  After his discharge, they moved to Badger, MN to start their life in farming, which continues today.  After her children started school, Donna began her 40 year career at Polaris Industries.

Donna was an avid reader; enjoyed keeping up with her friends and family on Facebook.  There was always a meal ready for anyone who stopped by.  She was well-known for her hard-work ethic and being family oriented.  Blessed be her memory.

She is survived by her husband Oren Anderson of Badger; children, Cheryl (Donald) Johnson of Roseau, Mitchell Anderson of Badger, Bryan Anderson of Badger, and Shelly (Leslie) Voll of Salol, MN; 9 grandchildren, Dawn, Tommy, Trevor, Bobby Jo, Misty, Jared, Stephanie, Ashley and Adam; 17 great-grandchildren, Catie, Marissa, Hallie, Jake, Zackery, Ayden, Makayla, Ty, Cohen, Caelum, Tate, Jasmin, Morgan, Mason, Madison, Jaden and Olivia; siblings, Robert (Esther) Welin of Roseau, Roger (Barb) Welin of Roseau and Shirley Lenius of Duluth.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Arthur, Lavern, Irene, Adeline, Grace and Delores.
