A Memorial Service for Donald L. Palmquist of Warroad, MN will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Warroad Senior Living Center Chapel with a visitation held one hour prior. Interment will be held At Riverside Cemetery in Warroad, MN.
Donald passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the age of 89.
Donald Lee Palmquist was born on July 3, 1927 in Fergus Falls, MN to Ole and Glad (Borgen) Palmquist. Don grew up and attended school in Fergus Falls. He married Helen Fish on December 9, 1948. Throughout his life he worked various jobs before starting his own business. Don’s Island Delivery Inc., moving freight out to Flag Island at the Northwest Angle. Don and Helen moved to the Northwest Angle in 1978. He loved the lake. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Don was much loved and will be missed deeply by his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Ollie Palmquist; daughters, Mary McDonald, Donna Palmquist; sister, Pat Fish.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Helen; son, Donald Palmquist; grandchildren, Zack Palmquist, Amy Palmquist, Brenda Mercer, Georgia Olson, Bradley Meeker; eight great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; brother, Gordie (Diane) Palmquist; brother in-law, Wayne Fish; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
