Debra Diepenbrock Obituary

A Memorial Visitation for Debra A. Diepenbrock of Warroad, MN will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 5-7PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad, MN. Debra passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the age of 65.

Debra Alice Diepenbrock was born in Warroad, MN on November 18, 1952, to Harold and Betty (Storey) Fish. In 1961 the family moved to St. Paul, MN, where she attended Jefferson Elementary School and Monroe High School.

Debra and Bob Diepenbrock were married in 1973. They had two children – Troy and Teri. In 1977 Debra proudly achieved her GED alongside her mother.

Deb moved to Lake City, MN, in 1977. There she raised her family while working various jobs. She was a Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader, a football mom, basketball mom, softball mom, and loved fishing on Lake Pepin. She had a love for all sports and enjoyed her time playing softball. She also enjoyed family gatherings and when the guitars came out you could expect Debbie to be singing loudly.

In 1999 she took on the new title of Nana. Her grandchildren were the sparkle in her eye. She loved following their various activities and wouldn’t miss anything. She wouldn’t let them leave without a hug every time and wouldn’t hang up the phone without an “I Love You”.

Debra moved home to Warroad in 2003 and she worked for Marvin Windows and Farmers Union Oil Company.

Debra is survived by her children, Troy (Kerrie) Diepenbrock of Durand, WI and Teri (Wayne) Ehlers of Warroad, MN; grandchildren Conner & Haley Ehlers of Warroad, Nicholas Egan of Lake City, MN, Brittany, Matthew, Garrett, and Hewitt Diepenbrock of Durand, WI; brothers Gene (Alison) Fish, Gary (Connie) Fish, Jim (Emily) Fish, Kelly Evans; sisters Gayle Fish, Kathy Evans, Debbie Harrison, Sheri (Bob) McClain, Donna (Tim) Noonan, Georgette (Gary) Bruhn; step-mother Virginia Storey, many nieces and nephews, and friend Kay Forsberg. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and Roger Evans.
