Memorial services for Dean Kelly Haugen, age 49 of Baudette, MN will be held Thursday, January 25th at 2 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Baudette. Visitation will be one hour prior.
Dean Kelly Haugen passed away suddenly on January 21 at the age of 49. Dean was born at Midway Hospital on January 1, 1969, to Glen and Rose Haugen. His first few years were spent in St. Paul, Minnesota. The family moved to Wyoming, Minnesota in September of 1972. Dean attended school in Forest Lake, Minnesota, graduating from Forest Lake High School in 1987. He had various jobs after graduation - Royaline Industries, St. Croix Stone and his final one was at the State of Minnesota DHS working in the mail room. In 1996 he was diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis from which he was unable to work due to various health problems. Dean and his brother moved to Baudette in 2004 where they lived in a mobile home for several years. Dean still lived in the mobile home until his passing. He had several hobbies, fishing and hunting and taking care of his two dogs both of whom were full blood - one an English Springer (Nugent) and the other a puppy (Brittney) Gonzo. Dean was preceded in death by his grandparents - Harry and Irene Kobler and John and Viola Haugen, and aunts and uncles, Dean Haugen from Springfield, Virginia, Lee,, Floyd and Vivian (Ralph) Hanson from Alvarado and Bonnie (Ronnie) Olson from East Grand Forks area. He is survived by his parents, Glen and Rose and brother, Todd. Also surviving are many friends and relatives.
