Carl M. Anderson

Carl M. Anderson, 86, Warroad, MN, passed away Thursday, July 12th, 2018 at the Warroad Senior Living Center.

Carl was born October 11th, 1931, to birth parents Christine and Carl M. Anderson Sr. in Grafton, ND.   He was raised by Arvil and Cora Johnson on the family farm in Hoople, ND.  Carl graduated from Hoople High School in 1950.

Carl is a Korean War Veteran and received several service metals.  He was employed for many years and retired from the North Dakota State Mill in Grand Forks, ND.  A few years after retirement he moved to Warroad, MN to be closer to family.  He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the VFW and the American Legion. 

Carl was an amazing uncle.  He loved spending time with his family and nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  He was a very hard worker all of his life and strong as an ox.  He would always lend a helping hand and was always someone you could count on for anything.  He was a true Christian and loved gospel music.  He also enjoyed reading.  He was very smart and always knew something about everything.  His brusque exterior didn’t fool anyone.  He was a teddy bear.  He had a very unique sense of humor and was a bit of a shyster when he would play tricks on his caregivers.  His last few years he enjoyed very much under the care of the wonderful loving nurses at the Warroad Senior Living Center. 

He is survived by his sister-in-law Mildred Johnson, Minot, ND, brother-in-law Ray Gefroh, Warroad, MN, several nieces and nephews, and his WSLC family of nurses and aids that loved and cared for him.

He is preceded in death by his birth parents Christine and Carl M Anderson Sr, parents who raised him Arvil and Cora Johnson, brother Wayne Johnson of Minot, ND, sister Mary Gefroh of Warroad, MN.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 218 at Riverside Cemetery in Warroad, MN.
