It's been many years since I last saw Uncle Allan, but as a kid visiting "up North," I admired his ability to bring perspective beyond my own during conversation -- a trait all the Wold men seemed to have, much like their father. I never told him thanks for his military service, but I'm here to say it today -- something we both have in common. I find it interesting how he served in the Air Force, followed by service in the Army, followed by service in the Air National Guard -- a most honorable thing to do. I know it's never easy to lose a loved one, especially for his immediate family -- my thoughts and prayers to you all. My family and I won't be able to make the trek to Northern Minnesota to pay last respects, but I take comfort in knowing he is being laid to rest near his parents. I plan to one day visit Roseau and pay my respects to Uncle Allan and his parents, my esteemed grandparents. Peace to you, Allan.

I am so sorry for your loss. What helped me to cope when I lost my father was Revelation 21:4. It says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” If you need anyone to talk to, don't hesitate to contact me.
