Funeral services for Allan Ferrier of Baudette will be held on Friday, December 14th at 2 PM at Pitt Community Church west of Baudette. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at Helgeson Funeral Home in Baudette; and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Pitt-Riverside Cemetery.
Allan L. Ferrier died at Bemidji Sanford Health Center, surrounded by his family on December 6, 2018. He was 78 years old.
Allan LeRoy Ferrier was born to Adrian Ferrier and Verona (Grund-Ferrier) Nordquist at Pitt, MN on February 11, 1940. He grew up and lived in Pitt his entire life. On October 28, 1961, Allan and JoAnn (Franks) were united in marriage.
He spent most of his life working as a logger. In 1995, Ferrier Logging was incorporated. Allan retired in 2005 due to health issues. He also worked various jobs. Some of Allan's hobbies where collecting antiques and restoring old tractors. He spent a lot of time researching family history and putting together photo albums. One of his favorite TV shows to watch was the Big Joe Polka.
Allan and JoAnn took their family for an adventure to Alaska in 1975 for three months. He worked in construction while they were there.
Allan is survived by his wife, JoAnn; six children, Kimberly (Brian) McNutt, LuAnn Ferrier (Troy Weaver), Sherri Ferrier-Sipe (Steve Johanneck), Stewart (Karen) Ferrier, Curtis (Jodi) Ferrier, Crystal Ferrier (Darren Larson); 16 grandkids; 11 great-grandkids; a sister, Janice Ferrier; uncle, John Grund; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Adrian and Verona; three brothers, Ronnie, Vern, and Wayne Ferrier.
