Graveside services for Wayne "Clem" Olson of Baudette, MN will be held on Friday, June 4th at 4:00 PM at Elm Park Cemetery in Baudette. He passed away May 31st at the age of 82. Memorials preferred to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Wayne Clemen “Clem” Olson was born to Clifford and Olga (Hansen) Olson on July 14, 1938 in Bemidji, MN (Beltrami County). Wayne grew up and attended school in Baudette, MN, graduating from high school in 1956.
He worked at Arnold Lund and Howard’s Oil for many years. Wayne lived his lifetime dream of raising Black Angus cattle. He also enjoyed going out for breakfast at local cafés with his friends. Most evenings you would find Wayne at the VFW Club having a few beers. He also enjoyed country music and driving around Lake of the Woods County. Wayne donated money and supported St. Jude’s for children, the American Cancer Society, Disabled American Veterans and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father Clifford Olson in 1974 and his mother Olga Hansen Olson in 1984; brother Gary Paul Olson in 1998; sister Mary Jo Olson Miller in 2002. He is survived by his sister Maxine Olson Wangerud and brother Jack (Nancy) Olson of Baudette and 13 nephews and nieces.
