Lisa Dawn Miller, 56, passed away at home on February 5, 2021 surrounded by her daughters.

Lisa Dawn Miller, the daughter of Jon and Vivian (Hagen) Miller, was born on May 4, 1964 in Roseau, MN. She grew up on the family farm in Malung and was third in the family of five children. She graduated from Roseau High School in 1982. She then went on to work for Northstar Transport as manager of the tire department in the early to mid 90’s in Eagan, MN. Later, she attended the Minnesota School of Business and earned her degrees in business and computers, both at the top of her class. Lisa moved to Roseau in 2000 and sold real estate as well as insurance and, finally, accounts receivable at Roseau Diesel.

Lisa loved nature, gardening, canning, rock picking, doing puzzles, and spending time with her grandkids. In the early years, she enjoyed attending her sister Sally’s horse shows. She was known for her hobby of canning salsa, spaghetti sauce, beets, pickles and sauerkraut. She also loved helping the neighbors in making potato sausage. She loved to offer a helping hand when she could, from helping Elaine serve dinners at the Legion for hockey tournaments to simply bringing canned goods to friends and family. She always kept the fridge and pantry stocked for her girls’ never ending friend groups. Her smiling eyes and glowing heart was so welcoming to everyone in the community. Her heart and door were always open for dear friends and family who were wanting or needing a visit. Not only was she kind and caring, she was also stubborn. With that stubbornness, along with amazing strength, she was able to beat every prognosis that was thrown her way. She continued to fight through the end. She was truly a sparkling light in so many people’s lives and will be greatly missed.

Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents Albin (Irene) Miller, Adolph “Happy” (Ruth) Hagen; her Uncle William Hagen Sr., and Aunt Emilie “Pooky” Grittner.

Lisa is survived by her parents Jon (Vivian) Miller of Warroad; her daughters Carly (Jake) Beckel of Northwood, ND, Casey (Jade Estling) Bledsoe of Roosevelt, MN, Haley Neelans of Roseau, MN; her grandchildren Luna Beckel, Odyn Beckel and future baby Estling; her sisters Susan (Brian) MacLellan and Sally (Jim) Walden; her brothers Mike (Laura) Miller and Mitch (Shelley) Miller.
