Jerome E. Helstad

A Funeral service for Jerome E. Helstad of Roseau, MN will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Spruce Free Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Norland Cemetery in Salol. 

Jerome Helstad passed away on June 13, 2022 at the Warroad Senior Living Center in Warroad, MN. He was 92 years old.

Jerome Evald Helstad was born in Roseau, MN on November 14, 1929 to Oscar and Isabel (Dokken) Helstad. He attended school in Roseau and graduated from Roseau High School. During his lifetime Jerome worked at various places, including Marvin Windows and Land O’ Lakes. He also farmed and drove truck, and operated the Angle Transportation bus service. Jerome enjoyed hunting, farming and going to auction sales.

Jerome is survived by his son James (Sue Van De Hey); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Rose Helstad; brother Rod (Marge) Eastby; special friends Clay and Michelle Jerome; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Beatrice, who passed away December 4, 2021; parents Oscar and Isabel; son Jeffrey; sisters Audrey Jensen and Eleanor Lindberg.
