Glen "Dick" Bessler

Funeral services for Glen "Dick" Bessler of Roseau, MN will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.  Visitation will be one hour prior with interment at Badger City Cemetery.

Glen R. “Dick” Bessler passed away June 1, 2021 at LifeCare Roseau Manor at the age of 87.

Dick Bessler was born on November 18, 1933 in Roseau, MN to Earl and Jessie (Glen) Bessler. He attended school in Badger, MN graduating from high school in 1952. In 1953 Dick joined the US Air Force. He was stationed at Selfridge Field in Michigan as a jet mechanic. Dick also spent three years in the Air National Guard in Detroit, MI.

In 1957 Dick married Arlys Wold. They had two children, Duane and Renee. Dick worked as a truck driver, salesman and millwright before buying Earl’s Drive In in Roseau from his parents, which he owned for 18 years. After that he drove tender truck for the West Plant for ten years. Dick liked to fish, build street rods, garden and dance.

Dick is survived by his wife Arlys; children Duane (Jane) Bessler and Renee (Mark) Rhen; grandchildren Joe, Cassie and Katie; great-grandchildren Taylor, Jackson and Karson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
