Errol "TC" Jan Gunnufson, 78 of Warroad, MN passed away on February 4th, 2020 at the LifeCare Roseau Manor as a result of cancer.
He was born on April 25th, 1941 in Wild Rice Township, Norman County to Sydney Gunnufson and Norma (Flaaten) Gunnufson. He attended grades 1-8 in Gary, MN and graduated in 1959 from Warroad High School in Warroad, MN. He attended college for one year at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.
Errol was in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked as an electrician for Fish Electric and E&L Electric of Warroad, MN.
Errol was baptized at St Petri Lutheran Church of Gary, MN and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of Warroad, MN. After the death of his mother in 1955, Errol, along with his sisters, moved to Warroad, MN to live with uncle Bert and aunt Ida Flaaten. TC had a big heart once you got to know him. He was a homebody and ventured into town about once a week to get the mail and groceries. He loved horse racing, an occasional trip to Las Vegas, and watched Jeopardy daily - which he could answer most all of the questions. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. TC had a very good sense of humor and was quick to come up with a funny quip. He was known for saying "ya,ya,ya" and "gotta go" upon leaving.
He is survived by sisters Karen (Duane) Fausher of Prinsburg, MN, Dianne (Craig) Whaley, Roosevelt, MN; mother/aunt Ida Flaaten, Moorhead, MN; sisters/cousins Eileen (Steve) Lumley, Eden Prairie, MN, Nan Flaaten, Vancouver, WA; nieces Kim (Todd) Scharfenkamp, Salol, MN, Rachel (Wade) Damhof, Prinsburg, MN; nephew Mark (Yaneth) Janzen, Williams, MN.
He was preceded in death by parents, Sydney and Norma Gunnufson; sister Alicia Gunnufson; uncle Bert Flaaten; nephew Nathan Fausher; and all grandparents.
Thank you to the staff at the Roseau Manor for their patience and care given to him. Sorry for giving him all the 32 bags of oranges, he said that was his candy.
