Randie A. Johnson

Randie Allen Johnson, age 64 of Grand Forks, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held for Randie at the Warroad Community Church in Warroad, MN on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 11:00AM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at a later date.

Randie Johnson, a son of Robert and Mildred Ione (Remillard) Carlson, was born on April 2, 1959 at Warroad, MN. He was reared in Roosevelt, MN and attended Warroad High School. After high school Randie attended Thief River Falls, MN AVTI, receiving a degree in small engine repair. He moved across Minnesota, then to Texas for a time, to Kansas and Missouri where he worked for Seaward, in the highline industry. Randie later returned to Roosevelt and was blessed with two sons, Brandon Scott Frantz and David Matthew Pederson. In May 1986 he was married to Renee Brewer at Roosevelt, MN. To this marriage Randie was blessed with 5 more children, Jesse Lee, Noah Allen, Isaac Robert, Hannah Ruth LeAnn and Benjamin Ronald.

 Randie owned two businesses, G.S.S. Hauling and R & R Trucking. He also worked for Stodgell Service, Bosch Industries and Strata Corporation. After sustaining a life changing back injury in the early 2000’s, Randy returned to college at Vermillion Community College in Ely, MN, receiving an Associates of Science Degree in water and wastewater management in 2009. Having received his degree and water certifications Randie began working for the City of East Grand Forks, MN in water management. He held a class B water license at the time of his death.

Randie enjoyed hunting, fishing, small engine repair, BBQing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Renee of Grand Forks, ND; sons, Brandon Frantz of SD, David (Toni) Pederson of Roosevelt, MN, Noah (Kasie) Johnson of Warren, MN, Benjamin (Haley Kloety) Johnson and Isaac (Jayme Jaszczak) Johnson both of Grand Forks, ND; a daughter Hannah Johnson of Karlstad, MN; grandchildren Madison Booth, Aiden Hunter-Pederson and Rylan Pederson, Rileigh and Owen Johnson and Waylon Minier, Ezra and Stevie Johnson, Oz, Ina and Odin Johnson, Emma Gail Ramstad; a great-grandson Nolan Riplinger; a brother, Richard (Jenny) Johnson of Roosevelt, MN sisters, Roselyn (Donald) Moyer, Roberta (Arlyn) Stewart, Teresa Carlson (Lon Bailey), Sharon Carlson (Dusty Fish) all of Roosevelt, MN, Sibil Arrington of PA and Mary Carlson of Warroad, MN.

Randie is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ione; a child Jesse Lee; stepfather, Benny Carlson; sister, Wanda Johnson; brothers, Andy Carlson and Ron Johnson.

Randie gave his heart to the Lord on May 16, 1986 and was baptized the same day. Randie was a servant of the Lord until he was called to Heaven on January 17, 2024.
