Kelman Kvien Obituary

Kelman Michael Kvien (74) of Roseau, MN passed away peacefully at his home February 1, 2024.

Kelman was a gift from God born July 23, 1949 to complete the family of Albert and Edna Kvien of Pinecreek.  He graduated from Roseau High School in 1967.  After high school, he had a variety of jobs until he got married, settled down, started a family and purchased a farm northeast of Roseau.  There he and Elizabeth made their home and raised their three children.  He was a pleasant, caring, compassionate, friendly man who enjoyed being out in the community, eating at area restaurants and supporting his children and grandchildren in their sports and activities.  His family was his pride and joy.  He also liked reading, playing solitaire and traveling near and far, especially to Hawaii the past 20 Januarys, and wherever else he could persuade or drag Elizabeth to go with him.

Kelman was survived by Elizabeth, his wife of over 50 years; his children Matthew (Amanda), Rachel (Jamen) Foss and Peter (Lori); grandchildren Titus, Tucker, Reagan, Eli, Amelia, Greta, Lincoln, Stella and Isaiah; and his siblings Donna Gilbery, Adelee Ridlon, Nancy Canfield and Steve Kvien.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Albert Junior and Courtland; and grandchildren Drew, Christian, Gabriel, Laila, Max and Finn.

A Funeral Service for Kelman Kvien of Roseau will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseau at 11:00am, with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
