June Hagen, beloved mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away on April 6th, 2024 at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, MN at the age of 94. June was born on June 8th, 1929 to Bert and Dorothy (Hicks) Johnson. She was the oldest of 5 children. June grew up in rural Badger, attending school through the 8th grade. Instead of going to the “big” school in Badger after the 8th grade, she began working on the family farm.

June married LuVerne Hagen at Our Redeemer’s Church in Badger on November 19th, 1949 and they resided and raised 6 children on the farm in rural Badger. While being a homemaker on the farm, she also worked at the local grocery store and restaurant. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and Our Redeemer’s Church. June moved into town where she spent most of her later years. Many of those years she was employed at Polaris, where she created lifelong friendships. She was known to be a hard worker, keeping her yard meticulous and creating beautiful flower gardens. June also loved to cross-stitch, make quilts, embroider dish towels and pillowcases for all her family. Berry picking and canning all types of foods kept her very busy, and when she did relax, it was usually in her recliner watching the many varieties of birds that would be at her always filled bird feeders. She continued to do all these hobbies she loved until she went to the Lord. June also spent many hours in the gym or at the ballfields cheering on her grand and great-grandchildren with all their activities. The lake was a favorite place to be, often in on all the fun and crazy family adventures.

Whenever June had visitors, she most likely was in a panic flying around the house trying to find where she had left her dentures. Often they were found in the most peculiar places, including but not limited to, the console of her car, in her robe pocket, her purse, her chair or just laying on the kitchen counter. And if she did have them, they sometimes ended up flying out of her mouth.

In November of 2023, June moved to the Assisted Living at LifeCare Manor in Greenbush, MN. She, along with her family, appreciated the compassionate care she received while residing there for her last 5 months. June Audrey Hagen will be dearly missed by her six children, Lindi Peterson of Kandiyohi, Lonnie Hagen of Greenbush, Vicki (Tom) Hoverson of Strathcona, Sherry Wahl of Greenbush, Rhonda (Jeff) Fevold of Roseau, Vandra Lorenson of Greenbush; grandchildren Shawn(Heather) Peterson, Mandy Peterson, Kristin (Mike) Moody, Jeremy (Kari) Hoverson, Taryn (Carl) Kostrzewski, Trent (Kelly) Wahl, Nikki (Kurt) Wojchowski, Kelby Fevold, Kenny Bachmeir, Kira Hargreaves, Emma Nash, Terra (Daryl) Wockenfuss, and Chad Lorenson; 29 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Linda Johnson; nieces Kara (Sam) Pelowski, Shauna Johnson; nephew Glen Sorteberg and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Norbert Johnson, Dorothy Jean Sorteberg, Rick Johnson and infant sister Roberta Johnson; brother-in-law Odin Sorteberg; son-in-laws Tom Peterson and Ricky Lorenson; and nephew Alan Adamski. Together, let us remember June’s unwavering lover for her family and friends.  Blessed be her memory.
