Sandra L. Markstrom

Sandra L. Markstrom, 66, passed away on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. She was born Jan. 13, 1950 in Roseau, MN to the late Melvin and Edith (Knutson) Markstrom. She attended elementary and high school in Roseau and following graduation, moved to Los Angeles, CA where she was employed by Rusco, Inc. as their comptroller for 40 years. Family was important to Sandi as she loved her trips back to MN seeing family and friends, picking blueberries and the Roseau County Fair. She also enjoyed gardening, reading and crafting. She loved hosting soup day in CA, a tradition she started many years ago. Sandi was an animal lover and rescued many pets, most recently her cats Clooney, Samantha and Maddie.
Surviving are her siblings, Darlene Sparacino of Chicago, Donald (Sue) Markstrom of Stewartville, MN, Judy (Warren) Pillsbury of Minneapolis, MN, Nancy (Ron) Faber of Minneapolis and Kristine (Dennis) DeGregor of Libertyville, IL; Nieces and nephews, Gianna, Mark and Stefanie Sparacino; Cindy (Markstrom) Siegle, Debbie (Markstrom) Sykora, Greta (Markstrom) Jones, Greg and John Pillsbury, Kari (Toll) Olson, Chad and Eric Toll; Joe Faber and Morgan DeGregor; 14 great nieces and nephews, three aunts and many cousins.
Private family services are being held in Libertyville, IL and interment will be in the Moe Rose Cemetery in Roseau at a later date.
