Memorial services for Randy Erickson of Salol, MN will be held on Friday, May 15th at 2 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Spruce Cemetery in Roseau. He passed away on May 7, 2015.
Randy John Erickson passed away at his home in Salol, MN on May 7, 2015 at the age of 61.
Randy, son of Arthur B. Erickson and Norma Erickson (Folling), was born February 27, 1954, in Roseau, MN. Randy lived in the rural Salol area and graduated from Roseau High School in 1972. He married Mary Salpacka in December, 1973. During their 20+ year marriage, they raised three children – 2 sons and 1 daughter in the Salol area.
During his younger years, Randy was a full-time farmer during the summer and logged during the winter months with his father, Art, and his uncle Roy. Later, he was employed at QC Techniques for 5+ years, and legend has it that Randy also had a try at bull riding.
Randy was a very caring person. He will be remembered for his big heart and willingness to help anyone in need, even those he didn’t know. Randy enjoyed fishing and he also spent a lot of time studying the bible.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, and survived by his 3 children – Rachel, Tony and John; brothers, Mike, Terry, and Jeff; and 2 sisters – Mary and Judy. He will be missed by many.
