Patricia L. Sorenson

A Celebration of life for Patricia L. Sorenson will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 2:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Elm Park Cemetery in Baudette, MN.

Patricia passed away on Monday, July 25, 2015 at Sandford Health in Thief River Falls, MN at the age of 81.

Patricia L. Sorenson was born in Baudette, MN on September 23, 1934 to Arthur and Evelyn (Bain) Erickson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Baudette and attended Elementary school there. Patricia then went to the “ AC” in Crookston, which was an Agricultural school.

She married V. Dennis Carpenter on June 23, 1952 and they had six children. Patricia was a homemaker until she started working at Dowkey from 1994-1996. She then worked from 1967-1969 for Arctic cat snow specialties, when she moved to Roosevelt, MN in the late 80’s she worked for Marvin Windows and Doors in Warroad, MN.

Patricia enjoyed visiting with neighbors and family. She would always send birthday cards, and kept in contact with all family and friends through the letters she would write. Patricia loved sewing, and she sewed the wedding dresses for her girls, she also did a lot of reading and card playing. She volunteered for many different organizations, meals on wheels; a grade school and WIC in Newfolden were just a few. More than anything Patricia loved her family and made sure to attend her grandchildren’s numerous sporting and school events.

Patricia is survived by her children, Curtis (Betty) Carpenter, Shelley (Don) Fredericks, Greg (Laurie) Carpenter, Tammy (Keith) Carlson, Kristi (Jim) Carpenter, Chad (Mieh) Carpenter; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Pearce of Layton, UT; first husband, V. Dennis Carpenter.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester Sorenson; her parents, Arthur and Evelyn; brother in-law, Gordon Pearce.
