A Funeral service for Olga Kaeding of Badger, MN will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 10:00AM at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Badger, MN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN from 5-7PM with a prayer service held at 7:00PM. Interment will be held at a later date.

Olga Kaeding passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Life Care Roseau Manor at the age of 94.

Olga Lenea Kaeding was born on October 21, 1920 to Carl and Clara (Carlson) Swenson in Minco Township, rural Warwick. She was baptized on November 16, 1920 at Warwick Lutheran Church. Olga was raised in the rural Warwick area and attended Minco Township schools and Warwick school.

Olga was working as a cook and housekeeper for Helena Kaeding in rural Penn, ND where Olga met Helena’s son Bennie. Bennie and Olga were married in Devils Lake, ND on October 30, 1945. They lived on the family farm for 22 years where they raised their five children. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Penn and was active in the Ladies Aid. They retired from farming in 1967 and moved to Devils Lake, ND. Bennie died on June 28, 1995. In 1999, Olga moved to Badger, MN to live with her daughter Carol and her husband Mitchell Rhen. In June of 2010, she moved into Roseau Manor where she lived her remaining days. Olga loved to garden, paint, embroider and make quilts. She is remembered as a great cook by her children and grandchildren.

Olga is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie; great grandchild, Haley Rattigan; her parents; brothers, John Swenson, Harold Swenson, Charles Swenson; sisters, Dorothy Lilleman, Evelyn Forde, Alice Crommet, Gladys Erickson, Esther Trevilion, Hilma Sahl.

She is survived by her children, Albert (Janice) Kaeding of Ormond Beach, FL, Carol (Mitch) Rhen of Badger, MN, Ben (Zoraida) Kaeding of Eden Prairie, MN, Edward (Brenda) Kaeding of Forest Lake, MN, Myron (Linda) of Devils Lake, ND; 27 grandchildren, Bennie Kaeding, Jessy Crabb, April Rattigan, Joy Liddle, Nicole Spicer, Brent Witthoeft, Shelia Copper, Lisa Ginther, Brian Rhen, Mario Rhen, Marcus Rhen Jacquan Rhen, Alex Rhen, John Kaeding, Chris Kaeding, Jeremy Kaeding, Tara Kaeding, Taylor Dewall, Heather Kaeding, Benjamin Kaeding, Laura Franco, Camilla Franco, Michael Kaeding, Lucas Kaeding, Carl Kaeding, Eric Kaeding, Jennelle Holt; 33 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, sister-in-laws Kay Swenson and Marion Swenson as well as many nieces and nephews.
