Funeral services for Louise Hendershot of Warroad, MN will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 11 AM at the Free Lutheran Church of Roseau. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Interment will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Louise Hendershot was born on September 15, 1915 to John and Marie (Arens) Meyers in Kenmor, ND. Louise attended school in numerous locations as her family moved around before settling in Winner, MN. She grew up during the great depression and the family did whatever they could to make it. They had cows, sheep and chickens. They had their own milk and made butter, they also picked berries. When President Roosevelt started the C.C.C and Resettlement Camps; Louise worked for Signa Hendershot who was boarding a large group of men that were working in the pulp woods. It is there that she met Oscar and one year later they married. The couple had three children, Lyle, Richard and Baby Gordon, who passed away as an infant.
Louise was a farm wife, and a very hard worker. She did anything and everything on the farm to help Oscar. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Hendershot; son, Gordon Hendershot; her parents, sister, Katie Cole; brother, Johnnie Meyers.
She is survived by her sons, Lyle and Richard Hendershot; grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Peirce, James William Hendershot, Travis William Hendershot, Sheila Belland; great grandchildren, Dakota Peirce, Jessica Peirce, James Hendershot Jr., Mickela Bonham, Levi Belland.
