Our deepest sympathies to the entire Backlund family. Lorraine was such an important part of my childhood at First Lutheran Church; serving as Sunday School Superintendent, organist, children's choir leader. Lorraine was a faithful woman of God and dedicated her life to service to others. Lorraine welcomed everyone into the Backlund home with open arms. I have so many wonderful memories of times spent at the Backlund home. She had a great sense of humor and and always had a positive attitude. She was loved by many and will be missed. May you all hold the precious memories of wonderful times in your heart and receive comfort from those memories. So sorry we are unable to be there for the service.

From 1979-1999 we felt like a part of Lorraine's family...every Thanksgiving and Easter we were invited for her delicious meals. Lorraine was a support and help in all church activities. As organist she enriched the music worship at First Lutheran in Roseau for decades. She'd seen many pastors come and go and kept them all on track! Thanks be to God for her faithful discipleship. Her family was a lot of fun too!

Dear Backlund family,
Our families shared so many fond memories. Our dads going hunting and fishing and our moms...as best friends.....spent time together......raising kids, canning, and laughing - enjoying each other's company. I recall their visit with us...Syracuse, NY...they found - fun and joy - in the everyday things of life!! We laughed a lot. We are blessed by the fond memories. XO
