A Funeral Service for Joyce Lorenson will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 1:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Interment will be held at the Lorenson Cemetery.

Joyce passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, MN at the age of 83.

Joyce Lorenson passed away at Roseau LifeCare Medical Center following a short illness on Thursday, August 27, 2015. She was born in Becker County, MN to Otto and Tyyne (Koski) Lorenson. She attended country school and graduated from Waubun High School in Waubun, MN. She also graduated from Teachers Training College in Thief River Falls, MN. Joyce taught school at Grass Lake where she met and married Edward Lorenson Jr. on February 11, 1956. She also taught in Ponsford and Gatzke, MN. After she retired from teaching; Joyce baked many Wedding, Birthday and Graduation cakes. She was also a member of the Greenthumb Garden Club and TOPS in Warroad, MN.  Joyce enjoyed crocheting, picture and crossword puzzles and reading. She also loved her trips to the casino. After Edward’s death in 2006, she moved to Badger, MN where she resided until June of 2014 when she moved to the Warroad Senior Living Center.

Joyce is survived by her sisters, Marvel (Edwin) Melin of Coon Rapids, MN, Judy Krueger of Perham, MN; brothers in law, Robert, Raymond ( Charlotte), Arnold (Peggy); and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed in 2006; her parents; brother, Harold; brother in law, John Krueger; sister in law, Marilyn Lorenson.
