Joyce M. Aasen

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joyce Aasen on Roseau, MN will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN from 5-7PM with a prayer service at 7PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Malung Cemetery at a later date.

Joyce (Tobin) Aasen was born on January 4, 1930 to James and Lucy (Rybakowski) Tobin in NewFolden, MN, she moved to Roseau County in 1933. Joyce attended country schools and would later marry Oscar Aasen on December 1, 1949. They moved to International Falls, MN and lived there for 22 years. On January 19, 1952 they were blessed with their daughter Linda. They returned to Roseau County in 1975 and have remained here since. Joyce loved spending time with family, especially Linda. She also loved to go camping and dancing. Joyce was a very active member of the Roseau Eagles; she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also the Roseau VFW. She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; her parents; siblings, Doris, Jimmie, Janie, Libby, Donald, Alice and Louis.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Linda; sister, Helen Holcomb; sister –inlaws, Helen and Hazel Aasen as well as many nieces and nephews.
